Week 5: 23rd-25th


Taking Action & Planning Staging your exhibition
By the end of this week you should have:

  • Presented a written plan of how you are Taking Action and requested authorization with both CRT and Ms Patricia or Ms Diane.
  • Taken Action!! Remember to take Photos or keep evidence somehow to show when staging the Exhibition.
  • Completed previous weeks responsibilities
  • Planned and divided responsibilities for week 5 in a weekly plan. Upload it to wiki.
  • Plan your performance Assessment. How are you going to show the Action you took and what you learned in a creative way?
  • What is the main point we wish to make? Choose the most important information to share and decide how are you going to share it.
  • Who is our audience?
  • How do we use media & Arts to express our inquiry in a creative and non-traditional way?
  • You have 10 mins for your presentation and 2 mins for questions people may have.
  • Reflection
    What are we feeling now that we must create a product to share?
    What is important to know about the presentation format we are using?
    How have our feelings changed throughout the inquiry process?
    What was the highlight of this inquiry?
    Are we satisfied with our creation?

Week 4: 14th-18th MAY


Synthesising, Making Conclusions & Taking Action
By the end of this week you should have:

Completed previous weeks responsibilities,

Planned and divided responsibilities for week 4 in a weekly plan. Upload it to wiki.

RESEARCH PROCESS
Reflected over your research process, answering the following questions and complete what is missing:
- With the resources you have used and the information you have found out and have collected, have you
sorted out the relevant and not relevant information? - - - Have you been able to answer your key questions,
lines of inquiry and student questions in depth? If not, you have to decide how you will collect the missing
information very quickly and collect it.

- Have you written a short summary of the relevant information found in each resource? (You should not
have done copy-paste, instead upload a document and write a summary or comment underneath.

- Have you quoted on each page the different resources where each piece of information was found?

- Have you created your bibliography page?

- Is your research is finished? What else do you need to find out about your topic? How do you know?

- Check each other’s work on the wiki and given feedback to each other keeping in mind its teamwork.
Remember to add a date and name to every piece of information you add.

SYNTHESIS
Made conclusions of all the information and ideas found in your inquiry. How can we do this?

1) For each key concept and line of inquiry:
  • Analyze all your findings/results through the different types of inquiry(media/interviews/surveys/observation-experience):
  • Synthesize the information
2) Made Overall Conclusions
  • Look at all the concepts overall and establish your conclusions. What are the main points you wish to make?
  • Look at the lines of inquiry overall and establish your conclusions
TAKING ACTION

This is the most important part this week!.. so make enough time for it!

Week 3: 7th-11th MAY


PREPARATION &PLANNING: Sorting out &Planning Action

By the end o|f this week you should have:
  • Written the lines of inquiry & student questions
  • Filled in the planner
  • Answered the key questions & sorting out, by organizing information found through inquiry in the wiki, according to the concepts and lines of inquiry. Each key concept question should have 1) previous knowledge 2) organized inquiry under headings of Media/ Interview/Surveys/Observation-experience 3) Each piece of information uploaded should have a summary in your own words of the relevant points. 4)Every entry should have a name and short date eg. Name 7.05.12
  • Update plan and responsibilities & upload on to wiki
  • Checked instruments (By teachers)& applied them to collect information through surveys and interviews &Planning Action
  • What type of action will you use: direct service/ indirect service/ research /advocacy
  • Who/Which audience will we reach with our action?
  • According to the type of action we have decided to use, what will the expected impact be?
  • Had your 3rd Mentor meeting

  • What are we feeling about our inquiry at this phase?

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Download a copy of the Attitudes, Attributes and Skills chart on the wiki page.
  • Fill it in the 2 attributes/ 2 attitudes that you have most used for your next religion class.
  • Fill in 3 skills that you have used from the beginning until week 3
  • Next week get ready to Synthesise & Start Taking Action!







Week 2: 30 APRIL- 4TH MAY (1ST MAY HOLIDAY & FRIDAY ORIGINAL CLASSES)


PREPARATION &PLANNING: Finding information
By the end of this week you should have:

  • Designed the central idea with your class
  • Answered the key questions: Getting started
  • Made questions about your inquiry
  • Checked the Exhibition Outline to realize the time frame you have
  • Structured a plan/Calendar of what you need to find out and how you will do it, using a variety of resources. (What?, Who?, Why? When?)
  • Started to create instruments to collect information such as surveys and interviews
  • Had your 2nd Mentor meeting: Arrange with your mentor an alternative time if your appointment is on Tuesday or Friday.
  • This week you must finish focusing and preparing, so that... Next week you are ready to collect information in an organized way: Media, Interviews, Surveys, Observation/Experiences) & for Planning Action
